 Because of Gillen my most consistent advice to all of my pregnant friends is to get a doula. Having birthed with and without a doula I found that having a doula, specifically Gillen was my greatest comfort throughout my birthing experience. She was my advocate, my rock, and my voice ALWAYS making sure that I felt empowered to make the right choice for me. She was my comforter and my protector when things became overwhelming and my companion so I never felt alone. Sometimes during birth everyone is so focused on the baby that the mother becomes sort of an after thought but Gillen was there to focus on me. I will forever be grateful for the amazing services she provided and I highly recommend her the best birthing partner anyone could have.  

Throughout my pregnancy, Gillen provided so much guidance and knowledge, which made me feel at ease. What I appreciated the most was Gillen's way of relaxing my mind, even if I felt like I wanted to strangle someone, she knew just what to say and do to calm me down. 

 When I wanted to speed up my labor process, Gillen came right over with absolutely no hesitation and walked the stairs with me amongst other exercises. 

When I thought I had contractions at work, Gillen came in a matter of minutes to rub my back and belly to make sure I was okay.  

Between breathing techniques or positive affirmation, Gillen knew just what to do to help me get through contractions. 

The night I went to the hospital for contractions, Gillen stayed with me the entire time in the hospital to make sure everything ran smoothly.

 When I received the news that I had to have an emergency C-Section everyone in the room was filled with emotion, and Gillen immediately brightened the room again just by reassuring us that this is what we had to do to save Christian's life.  

 After the birth of my son, Gillen checked on my family and me and even attempted to cook for us while we were in the hospital. When we were discharged, the house was very clean and welcoming. Gillen even ran a couple of errands for us!

Even when I didn't necessarily want to breastfeed or pump, Gillen encouraged me to go try, even if nothing comes out.  I'm glad I listened to her because I ended up producing a few bottles for my newborn.  

To sum everything up, Gillen was absolutely amazing and I don't know how my pregnancy would've gone without her. When I'm ready for the next golden child, I'll be sure to have Gillen as my Doula again.
